I run a busy and successful hypnotherapy practice and you can be assured that you will be receiving therapy from an experienced, registered and fully qualified clinical hypnotherapist.

My Approach

I believe that everyone has the resources within themselves to become the person they want to be and achieve change; sometimes we just need assistance to unlock our true potential. I take a holistic approach to helping you with any problems you may have, enabling you to move forward in life positively to achieve your full potential. As a therapist, I see myself as a facilitator, using a number of therapeutic techniques to guide my clients towards achieving their desired goals.

My approach helps you to access your unconscious inner resources through Hypnotherapy, learn conscious and quick techniques through NLP,  control your stress response through Stress Management, focus on future success through Coaching, clear blockages in your body’s energy system through Energy Psychology and unlock negative thinking patterns with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy techniques. This can result in powerful and positive life changes for you in a short period of time.

I am also committed to raising awareness of how the techniques I use can help others, and my weight reduction programme has been featured on both Heart 106 and Saga FM.

My Training and Qualifications

I have undertaken thorough training to ensure I am fully equipped to help you.  I have a degree in Psychology and have qualifications in Hypnotherapy, NLP, Stress Management and Energy Psychology. I have also undertaken additional training in Coaching, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Pain Management and Smoking Cessation. I am a member of the National Council for Hypnotherapy and registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council.

The Hypnotherapy training I have undertaken has been approved by the National Council for Hypnotherapy. The stress management training has been approved by the Society of Stress Managers and the NLP Training has been approved by the Association of NLP.

Professional Memberships

I am a member of the National Council of Hypnotherapy, one of the largest organisations for registered Hypnotherapists in the United Kingdom. All practitioners are bound by the organisation’s Code of Ethics and Conduct and are obliged to maintain comprehensive Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance. In accordance with these guidelines, my aim is to provide a professional and confidential service and treat you as swiftly and effectively as possible.

I am also a member of The Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC), the UK regulator for complementary healthcare practitioners. Its key function is to enhance public protection by setting standards for regulation. The CNHC “quality mark” is being recognised as the hallmark of quality for the sector. This means that the general public, and those who commission the services of complementary healthcare practitioners, will be able to choose with confidence by looking for the CNHC quality mark.

As I am CNHC registered my treatment is recognised for reimbursement with a number of private health cash plan providers. Westfield Health corporate plan and Health Shield will reimburse hypnotherapy as part healthcare provision. This means clients who are members of these plans can claim for some or all of the cost of their treatment with me.

The Department of Health recommends that members of the public considering hypnotherapy treatment should consult with someone who is CNHC Registered.

CNHC has worked with the Committee of Advertising Practice (CAP) Copy Advice Team, in consultation with CNHC’s Profession Specific Boards (PSBs), to produce the agreed wording listed below to describe Hypnotherapy.

“Hypnotherapy is a skilled communication aimed at directing a person’s imagination in a way that helps elicit changes in some perceptions, sensations, feelings, thoughts and behaviours.

In a typical hypnotherapy session the hypnotherapist and client will discuss the intended alterations or therapeutic goals desired. The hypnotherapist will ask questions about previous medical history, general health and lifestyle to decide on the best approach for the individual.

Hypnotherapy may be found to be helpful for those seeking relief from a range of problems and is used alongside a person’s own willpower and motivation to seek a desired goal. It is often used to help relieve anxiety, aid sleeping, address attitudes to weight, and help clients achieve behavioural change to stop smoking. It may also help with minor skin conditions that are exacerbated by stress and confidence issues, and may also be used to enhance performance in areas such as sport and public speaking.”
